Our tractors and rescue boats are expensive assets and need to be looked after.
Before using tractors or rescue boats, members must undertake training to ensure they understand not only the technical aspects of using the machinery but also the relevant maintenance processes.
The list of members qualified to use club tractors and rescue boats is available to members using the relevant filter on the Member Directory

For those who are registered, the points below should provide a handy reminder about how to look after the club's machinery
Tractors
Please remember that when operating the tractors they are your responsibility and you must take all due care and be responsible for preventing avoidable damage to these items.
All tractors are to be washed and cleaned thoroughly before being stored.
Tractors need to be rinsed straight away after being dipped in salt water not left until your return.
Quad Bike
Bruce Douglas and Russell Jones have purchased a quad bike which they are generously making available to club members to assist with launching and retrieving off the beach water craft. Usage will be governed by these guidelines.
Rescue Boats

BI 08
Foreshore Patrol is our white Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) and is the most used for all events for following the fleet around and for rescue if needed.

This boat must be hand winched on to the trailer and must never be driven on.

The motor needs to idle for about a minute.

The boat needs to be washed inside and out to get all the salt of it.

The trailer needs the hose connected to the wash system just under the winch.
BI 09
Reef Rescue is our small white RIB and is mainly used for Tackers training and rescue.

This boat is put on and off its dolly by hand normally by 2 people with the trailer right in the water so you don’t lift all of its weight.

The motor is flushed by placing the back of the boat up to the flushing tank in the boat wash area and lowering the motor and running it for about 1 minute at idle speed.

The boat itself just needs a rinse and rub with soft broom or your hand to get the salt off.
BI 10
Westernport Rescue is our older red RIB and is the used as a backup for BI8 and additional mid-sized RIB for larger events.

BI 11
Balnarring Rescue is our bigger red RIB that is used on bigger events as a rescue boat and when we have 2 courses set up it becomes the start boat as well as rescue boat.

This boat is quite a bit harder to drive due to the weight of the motor.

This boat needs deeper water to get it off and on the trailer.

It can only be driven about half way on to the trailer then must be winched on.

The motor is flushed by using the muffs that are in the boat and put in from the prop side.

The motor needs to idle for 1 minute.

The boat needs to be washed inside and out to get all the salt of it.

The trailer needs the hose connected to the wash system just under the winch.
BI 12
Tulum is our big yellow aluminium boat.

This is our start boat used for setting the race course and starting all division races with the race officer onboard.

It will then follow the last boat and pick up the course markers.

This is not our rescue boat unless it is an absolute emergency.

The boat is drive on and drive off the trailer with the motor out of the sand but in the water.

This motor needs the hose connected to the rear of the motor and flushed for 2 minutes and does not have to run.

The boat generally needs to be washed inside and out as well as the anchor well.
-
It also needs all seaweed to be left out at sea not in the boat.

The trailer needs to be connected to the wash system just below the winch.
BI 17
Adam's Rib is a mid-sized white RIB used as a backup for BI10 and additional mid-sized RIB for larger events.

This boat must be hand winched on to the trailer and must never be driven on.

The motor needs to idle for about a minute.

The boat needs to be washed inside and out to get all the salt of it.

The trailer needs the hose connected to the wash system just under the winch.
All boats must have their checklists filled in before they leave the yard and completed when they return. Make sure your name and date are on these forms and do not leave the yard if you are missing anything. The forms are on the white bench in the boat shed and must be left there after your return and all packed up.
Important for all of our boats is the need to keep the motors out of the sand. Everytime the motor goes in the sand it destroys the water pumps and the eventually the motor.
Please trim the motors up when in close to shore!!!!!!
All boats must be unloaded at the end of each day.
